Five randoms this Thursday.

1. I’m finally caught up at work. Absolutely. Totally. One hundred percent. Caught up. Ah, relief.

2. I wish I could say the same about things at home. The piles of laundry are taking on a life of their own. I wish I were kidding.

3. I’ve been watching the first season of Project Runway. Why was I not watching this before?

4. Yesterday was my birthday. My husband finally put a stereo in my car that will play my iPod. I’m a very happy girl. Girl? I’m twenty-nine now so I guess I should say woman. My mom took me to Red Lobster and bought me a shirt, a skirt and a jacket.

5. I’m wearing the jacket now with khaki dress pants. It looks like this.

So close.

The University of Memphis Tigers lost to Kansas last night. I thought we had it. I really did. It’s amazing to me how spirited everyone was yesterday. Today? People aren’t even talking about the game. It’s too depressing.

Duh duh duh…

So I’m guessing two pink lines means I’m going to have another baby.

 

Billie Jean is not my lover.

I am obsessed with American Idol. It’s even worse this year because several of the singers are really talented. Did anyone see David Cook’s performance last night? He performed Chris Cornell’s version of Billie Jean. I got goosebumps and maybe teared up a little. Maybe.

Zoo Day

I took Dain to the zoo on Friday since I didn’t have to work. It was the perfect day for it. It was warm, and the sun was shining. I purchased a year membership for the family so we’ll definitely be going again as soon as we can.

Crap day.

I called in to work yesterday because Dain had been running a fever all weekend. He also had a runny nose and a bit of chest congestion. I took him to the doctor. The doctor said he has a cold. Dain’s feeling better already because he gave me his cold. I’m back at work, sneezing all over my desk and counting down the hours until I can go home. I have four hours and forty-five minutes left. One hour of which is reserved for lunch, but it’s rainy and windy out. What a crap day!

It’s Friday. Hallelujah!

An agent in the office turned ninety-one today. We had birthday cake and ice cream to celebrate. My co-worker devised a plan. If we don’t take a lunch, we can leave an hour early. I love it when we make up our own rules. My weekend’s starting early. If that doesn’t help a girl’s mood, I don’t know what will. Ok, booze would work, but I’ll have to wait until I’m home for that.

The Day After Valentines

Tony got his parents to watch Dain last night so we could go to dinner. I was expecting to read a book while he played video games so I was pleasantly surprised. Dain spent the night with his grandparents so I didn’t have to jump out of bed this morning to get him ready. I hit snooze two or three times. Ok, I hit it at least four times. Maybe five. I skipped my morning shower. Is that too much information? It absolutely is, but I speak nothing but the truth here. My hair is greasy. I have on yesterday’s makeup. I did manage to put on clean clothes and swipe on more deodorant so it could be worse.

It’s really cold today.

Sometimes Dain will sit in front of a movie and watch it through to the end. There are times when he asks me to put in a different DVD every five minutes. Tony’s worried that he has ADHD already. Dain is two. Two-year-olds are busy, spastic, unruly, and all over the place. I dread the conversation we’ll have if he stays hyperactive. I’m not a big fan of Ritalin or Adderall. I’d rather stick to what I heard as a child. Sit your ass down and shutup. You’re making mommy crazy.

Enough about drugs. Someone heated up some microwave popcorn in the breakroom. Microwave popcorn can be good if heated properly, but nine times out of ten it burns and smells. Haven’t these people heard of Hot Pockets?

I have not played Guitar Hero in a week. Unlike my husband, I do not have a video game addiction. When my house is finally clean, I am going to play like my life depends on it. Does anyone else feel the strong desire to take professional guitar lessons after playing? I want to be BFF with Slash.

Maybe I’m the one who needs some Ritalin.

A rainy day in Memphis.

I’m at work. I haven’t been very busy today so I’m shopping around online to pass the time. I’m looking for a new tote bag. I want a bag that can be used as a purse, but is versatile enough to carry around lots of crap. I’m also looking for something sturdy that doesn’t fall over. I have found several that I like, but none that I love so I haven’t purchased anything yet. I will not use the fact that it’s rainy and cold outside as an excuse to splurge.

Speaking of splurging, I ordered five boxes of Girl Scout cookies over a month ago. Surprise, surprise. They are here today. If you don’t hear from me for a few days, I’m probably in a Tagalong-induced coma.
